Insead strike back at RSM Regatta

Insead and LBS have between them won all the regattas of the 2013 MBA sailing league so far. In Lelystad, for the RSM regatta, it was Insead’s turn to bring home the trophy. The Insead team led by Ingrid Van Wees won three of the six races completed, came second in two and third in the last one.  Second place was taken by Yannis Pagoulatos’s Rotterdam School of Management crew, who were consistent through the second day of the regatta, with three 2s and a 1, while coming 3rd in both races on day 1.  The podium was completed by LBS, who couldnt find consistency: Despite two first places and a second, their 3,4,5 on day two cost them dearly.

The team from Kellogg/WHU had a really bad first day, with two team members taken to hospital: one with a displaced kneecap, and the other with concussion following a hit on the head by the boat’s boom.

The RSM regatta took place on the Markermeer off Leleystad, in the Netherlands, on 31 August and 1 September.  The onshore events were hosted in the pavillion that had been the home of the Ericsson Volvo Ocean Race team. The MBA -league sailing was in matched 25ft “Max Fun” keelboats. MEanwhile a B division sailed in Bavarias: The B division was won by the RSM staff team, with LBS/ HEC coming second and RSM EMBA13 coming third.
