Ugo Alvazzi del Frate and his team from Polimi Graduate School of Management won a close contest at the Global MBA Trophy regatta in Piraeus, Greece on 21- 22 April. The Italian business school team won by one point over 6 races, winning the last three races to edge out newcomers Reichman business school from Israel.
The regatta was raced hard on Friday 21st, with the race committee getting 4 races away, anticipating lighter airs on the Saturday. 11 Platu 25s raced windward- leeward courses on the bay of Faliron, hosted by the Yacht club of Greece from their base in Microlimano harbour.
Third place was taken by regular challengers SDA Bocconi.
In Division B, 12 40- 44 ft cruising yachts battled it out in 5 races on triangular courses in the bay. The team from HEC bringing home first prize, followed by Wharton and Tuck.
Over 150 business school participants took part in the three day event, hosted at the Yacht Clubs impressive clubhouse overlooking the bay.
