Eight teams expected for the POLIMI Capri regatta

The organisers of the Capri MBA regatta, due to take place on 26- 29 May have announced 8 teams taking part. The regatta is organised by the sailing club of the POLIMI Graduate School of Management, formally known as MIP, from the Politechnico di Milano. Participants from 3 business schools and a mixed crew will take part. POLIMI themselves are fielding 3 crews as are London Business School (LBS), making this a very Anglo – Italian affair. Instituto de Empresa (IE) will compete with one boat.
The regatta is made up of a sequence of coastal races around the beautiful and glamorous Bay of Naples: Starting in Procida and sailing to Capri; circumnavigating Capri, and returning to Procida.

After scoring their third first place of the year at the Rolex MBA’s Conference and Regatta, INSEAD stamped their authority on the league, scoring half the points of their two nearest rivals. The full league table can be found
The team from MIP Politecnico di Milano almost had the perfect regatta, securing first place in the first five races, before dropping to third for the final competition. Ugo Alvazzi del Frate’s crew held off strong challenges from Skolkovo and Bocconi, who finished second and third respectively.
Spyros Papantoniou and his crew from INSEAD romped home to win the MBA winter at Puerto Calero, Lanzarote, winning all 5 races. The regatta was held over the 10th and 11th of March in the Canary Islands, and was hosted by Instituto de Empresa (IE).
Following their fourth place at the Rolex MBAs Cup regatta in Sta Margherita, LBS finish the year on 19 points, four ahead of Skolkovo who did not participate in Italy.
