Guillermo Parodi’s crew led from start to finish at the fourth and final event of the year, while Bianca Mendelsohn put a second IE team on the podium.
CASCAIS (Portugal). IE University closed the MBA Sailing League season in style. The league is the annual sailing series that pits Europe’s leading business schools against each other. The boat helmed by alumnus Guillermo Parodi won the IE Regatta 2026, held from 17 to 20 September in the waters off Cascais. It was a commanding performance: Parodi led from the opening races and sealed the title in the ninth of ten.
Organised by the IE Sailing Club with the support of Clube Naval de Cascais, the event brought together 150 sailors, students and alumni alike, from some of Europe’s most prestigious business schools: SDA Bocconi, HEC Paris, Saïd Business School (Oxford), London Business School, Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), INSEAD, WHU – Otto Beisheim, Polimi GSoM and the host, IE University. Racing took place in two divisions: 11 teams competed in the League division on SailCascais’s fleet of J70s, and eight crews sailed in the Sport division on Terra Incógnita’s Grand Surprise yachts.

SDA Bocconi’s sailing teams have ended the 2025 season as champions of the MBA Sailing League. Following their victory in Cascais, Portugal, the crew from the Milan- based business school crowned a season where they’ve consistently finished in the top 4 of regattas, scoring 2nd in Greece and Malta and first in Portugal. Bocconi were the defending 2024 champions and retain the MBA Sailing league trophy, which will be presented to them at the Global MBA Trophy regatta in Piraeus in April 2026.

With seven competitive races and ten teams the stage was set for a high-stakes conclusion. One discard was allowed, putting a premium on consistency and tactical precision — a challenge that Bocconi met head-on to seal a decisive overall victory.
The regatta’s A division was sailed in J70 sports boats, with an AB division of 30- ft Grand Surprise racing yachts and a B division of cruising yachts also racing on the water off Cascais.
Bocconi delivered a strong performance throughout the regatta, with top-four finishes in every race they sailed, including three race wins. After six races, they had already secured the championship mathematically, allowing them to sit out the final race without affecting their position. Their DNC in Race 7 was discarded, leaving them with a commanding net score of 10 points — a dominant finish to an already impressive season.
