London Business School Win the 2012 MBA Sailing League

London Business School, despite only managing 11th place in the Rolex MBAs Cup Regatta were only 2 places behind their main rivals, INSEAD, and so retained the lead in the 2012 MBA Sailing League to win the title for the second time.

Insead hold onto top spot in the rankings

Insead’s 6th place at the Cranfield Regatta was enough for them to hold onto the number 1 position in the MBA sailing rankings.  They are three points ahead of London Business School, whose 3rd place on the Solent brings them above Bocconi into second. Warwick and Leeds round out the top five, climbing as MIP Milano and Manchester drop out.

The MBA Sailing Rankings are based on the past rolling 12 months of MBA sailing, so are currently made up of the 2011 Rolex MBA’s cup, the 2012 Global MBA Trophy, 2012 ABC and 2012 Cranfield regatta.

No Change at the top of the MBA Sailing Rankings

Insead’s third place at the ABC regatta means they stay top of the MBA sailing rankings, while Bocconi’s 13th place was just enough to keep them in second place – one point ahead of LBS in 3rd.  The only change in the top 5 is a return for Warwick, as they scored a 10th place in LA Trinite, having not participated in 2011. They replace MIP Milano, who were 7th in Venice last year, but could only manage 11th in France, so drop to 7th in the rankings. Continue reading “No Change at the top of the MBA Sailing Rankings”

Insead stay top of the rankings

INSEAD’s   third place at the Global MBA trophy in Piraeus consolidates their position at the top of the MBA Sailing rankings as we begin the 2012 season.  Indeed, as they came 4th in 2011, it makes their score one point less than at the end of 2011.

Bocconi and LBS are lying second and third respectively with 22 and 23 points, while Manchester and Cranfield benefit from the smaller number of qualifying boats in Greece and move up to 4th and 6th respectively at the expense of MIP Milano and Warwick who drop to 5th and 7th respectively. Only the 6 boats in the “A” division at Athens could qualify for the trophy, and so only those boats competing in the A division could gain points for the league.

Other big movers are Wharton, Chicago and HEC/Trium who missed Athens this year and so drop 4, 10 and 7 places respectively.
