MIP’s win in the Global MBA Trophy in Greece puts them top of the 2022 MBA Global Sailing League table. It also means that they climb to the top of the 12- month rankings, pushing Kellogg/WHU down to second place.

Third place in the rankings goes to Tuck, Imperial are 4th and LBS 5th.
The Global MBA Trophy returned after the Pandemic, back to its long- term home of Piraeus, Greece on the 7-10 April 2022. After a 2 year hiatus due to COVID and a 3 year gap since it was last held in Greece in 2018, normal service was resumed with Ugo Alvazzi del Frate’s MIP team winning the third regatta in a row in these waters.

The Rotterdam School of Business sailing club has announced the 12th edition of its annual regatta in Porto, Portugal.
The racing takes place on 1st and 2nd July 2022.
The programme will be:
Friday 22nd oThursday, June 30th, Fly in and Boat Check in with skippers briefing
Friday, July 1st, First day of races
Saturday, July 2nd, Second day of races and boat check out
Sunday, July 3rd Hotel Check Out and Fly out
Racing will use Platu 25 sport boats

IESE Business School in Barcelona have announced that the 2022 Spring Games will take place on 22- 24 April.
The sailing regatta is planned for Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd, with boats and host venue/sailing club to be announced. Results from the regatta count for the MBAsailing league.
The programme will be:
Friday 22nd of April 2022 – Training and 1st day of regatta
Saturday 23rd of April 2022 – Regatta 9:00 Open door and free training11:00 –> 15:00 Regattas.
The format will be windward leeward races.
The sailing is just one sport in a multi- sport event.

London Business School Alumni Sailing Club, the organisers of the Global MBA Trophy have announced the dates of the 2022 edition. The regatta will take place on 7 – 10 April, with racing on 8 and 9 April. The Regatta returns to the Yacht Club of Greece’s home port of Microlimano, in Piraeus, Greece. As there was only one MBA Sailing League regatta in 2021 – RSM’s regatta in Porto, Portugal, the top placing business school team at that regatta become the league champions. Step forward the crew from Kellogg/WHU!

The mixed team (including one crew member from INSEAD, and one from Oxford) came top of the points table at the RSM regatta in Porto, Portugal last weekend. They had a dominant first day, with 3 first places, and managed to hold onto first place with 2 second places on day 2.
The podium was made up of Kellogg/WHU, who found their mojo on day two, finishing the regatta with three bullets to end up second, and RSM who scored consistently to finish third, level on points.
Chicago Booth complete the list of competitors, with Skolkovo scored DNC in all races, after having to pull out due to international travel issues.

The RSM regatta to be held the weekend of 2-4 July 2021 in Porto, Portugal, marks a return out of COVID restrictions for MBA sailing.
The hosts expect 5 crews in the Atlantic racecourse:
1. Chicago Booth
2. Skolkovo
3. RSM
4. Kellogg-WHU
5. “Mixed Oxford”
The crews will be racing Platu 25 sportsboats and will enjoy the famous Porto/ RSM hospitality.
The organisers of the Global MBA Trophy regatta which was due to take place in Piraeus, Greece at the end of April 2021 have announced that it will not be taking place.
They issued the following statement:
As we all probably expected, it’s become clear that we will not be able to run the Global MBA Trophy regatta in April. The Organisers, London Business School Alumni Sailing Club and the Yacht Club of Greece called off the regatta on 10th April.
There are a number of factors to the decision:
The ongoing lockdown, curfew etc.. in Athens and Attica, for which I do not believe there is a date for it to be lifted before May.The banning of all non- essential overseas flights from the UK until at least 17 May, meaning competitors resident in the UK will be unable to travel. There are similar travel bans in place in other countries.The fact that we have only got four boats registered and paid a deposit.
We would like to attempt to run the regatta again in September (23- 26) or October(21 – 24), but need to make sure that there is a free slot in the MBA sailing calendar at that time. If not, we will be back in April 2022
The organisers of the RSM Regatta have confirmed the dates of the 2021 regatta to MBAsailing.com.
The regatta will be held in Porto as it has been since 2017.
The dates are: 1 – 4 July 2021.
