Bocconi are 2025 MBA Sailing League Champions

SDA Bocconi’s sailing teams have ended the 2025 season as champions of the MBA Sailing League. Following their victory in Cascais, Portugal, the crew from the Milan- based business school crowned a season where they’ve consistently finished in the top 4 of regattas, scoring 2nd in Greece and Malta and first in Portugal. Bocconi were the defending 2024 champions and retain the MBA Sailing league trophy, which will be presented to them at the Global MBA Trophy regatta in Piraeus in April 2026.

Tight at the top of the league

POLIMI GSoM sit at the top of the MBA Sailing League after two regattas, but with only 4 points separating first and fifth place, everything is still to play for in 2025.

The POLIMI team have 5 points scoring 3rd at the Global MBA Trophy in Greece and 2nd in the POLIMI regatta in Sardinia. Just behind are SDA Bocconi on 6 points, with a 2nd and a 4th, then LBS with 7 points, IE with 8 and Imperial with 9 points.

Next up is the RSM regatta in Malta in July.

POLIMI GSoM Regatta 2025 dates and venue announced

The 2025 POLIMI regatta returns to Cala dei Sardi in Sardinia, Italy. The 2025 dates have been announced as 8- 11 May 2025.

The regatta has two divisions, with division A qualifying for the MBA Sailing League, and division B aimed at less experienced sailors. The boat is the one-design J24, with Symetrical Spinnaker. They take crews of up to 5 sailors. Division B is placed on cruising boats, with crews of up to 8 persons.

London Business School take the lead at the season’s half-way point

With a first in Italy and a second place in Greece, London Business school are topping the MBA Sailing League after the first two events of 2024’s 4- event series. POLIMI sit in second place with a second and a third place. Athens champions, SDA Bocconi, who didn’t make it to Sardinia sit in third.

LBS also move top in the 12- month rankings, which take into account all the regattas since this time last year. IE sit second and POLIMI third.

London Business School win in Sardinia

London Business School won the POLIMI regatta held at Cala dei Sardi in Sardinia, Italy, despite being unable to start the final race in the regatta when their rudder fixings snapped. The team scored three race wins in the 6 race series, to come top, level on points with the POLIMI 1 and POLIMI 2 teams. POLIMI 2 scored 2 race wins, and POLIMI 1 won the remaining race.

In Division B, the crew from POLIMI won both races, with IE/POLIMI second and POLIMI/IE third in each.

POLIMI Regatta 2024: Dates Announced

The Sailing Club team from POLIMI GSoM have announced the dates and venue of their 2024 regatta:

9 – 12 May

Cala dei Sardi, in the Mediterranean sailing paradise of Sardinia.

There will be 2 divisions: Division A sailing one- design J/24 sports boats (team of 5) ; Division B sailing cruising boats (team of 8).

POLIMI consolidate 2023 league position

POLIMI GSoM’s second place in their own regatta consolidates their position at the top of the MBA Sailing League table for 2023. IE and LBS’s placing in this regatta move them ahead of Reichman, who did not attend. Meanwhile Sapienza Roma climb to 5th place after their win in Garda. The 2023 League table is here.

In the 12- month rankings table, POLIMI switch places with LBS, who won in Capri in 2022, to lead the rankings by 1 point. The rankings table is here.

Sapienza Roma win in their first MBA Regatta

The crew from Roman Business School Sapienza Roma won the POLIMI GSoM regatta at Lake Garda, Italy. They won 2 of the three races to finish top of the table with six points.

The POLIMI team 3 were consistent with 2 second places and a third, finishing second, while POLIMI team 1 had a 1 a 2 and a 6 to finish 3rd.
